Mentoring/Tutoring

Adults are needed to spend time with a young person by tutoring or to and be a big brother or a big sister. Volunteer here: Big Brothers Big Sisters, King County Library Study Zone, Communities In Schools, MultiService Center tutoring for homeless children at 253-838-6810, or AmeriCorps.

Group Leader

Help the youth of our community build skills for life. By leading a small group, our time, knowledge and heart could make a big difference in the quality of life in your community. Help youth develop leadership skills, explore new ideas, and learn about themselves. Volunteer here: Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, and Campfire USA

After School Game Room and Gym Activites

Adults are needed to teach sportsmanship to youths in a gym setting. The games available are basketball, foosball, ping pong, board games, billiards, soccer, active playground games. Adults don’t necessarily teach but be present as a positive role model, play the sport with the youths, pay attention to them, and have one-on-one interaction with them. Teen Nights

Teen nights are events for middle and high school students. Adults are needed to build relationships with teens and interact with them in a safe, fun, and age-appropriate environment. Volunteer here: Boys & Girls Club or EX3 Teen Center.

Education Center and Computers

Adult tutors are needed to meet with youth and tutor them on homework, word processing, web design, internet surfing, tech support, supervision, or programming. Volunteer here: Boys & Girls Club or EX3 Teen Center.

Coaching

Adults are needed who can model teamwork, sportsmanship and instill the joy in being involved in a positive, healthy activity like football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, martial arts, wresting, track, or dodgeball. Volunteer here: Boys & Girls Club or EX3 Teen Center.

Advisors

Adults are needed to advise and facilitate group programs in the skills of responsible citizenship & leadership, planning events, working in a team, helping others, etc. Some of these programs are Torch Club, Keystone Club, SMART Moves, SMART Girls. Special Skills

Adults are needed to share their special skills, hobbies and passion with youth who have the potential to adopt and share your passion and a special relationship with you. Maintenance/Administrative

Adults with construction, painting, groundskeeping, or landscaping skills are needed to keep a non-profit organization operating as efficiently as possible. Volunteer here: Boys & Girls Club or EX3 Teen Center.

Fundraising/Event Promotion

Neighborhood Block Watch

A neighborhood watch is one of the most effective ways to deter crime. Members of a neighboorhood watch keep an eye out for criminal behavior and contact authorities when they notice suspicious activity. Volunteer here: Federal Way Police Department
